In /usr/lib/MailScanner/MailScanner/SweepViruses.pm, add a line so it
says this at/around line 3678:
# Attempt to open the connection to fpscand
$sock = ConnectToFpscand($Port, $TimeOut);
return 'FPSCANDNOTRUNNING' if $lintonly && !$sock;
The 'return' line is the new one.
Then 'service MailScanner stop' and run 'MailScanner --lint' again.
Please let me know how you get on.
