problems installing on fedora core 9

I am trying to install MailScanner on fedora core 9. I ran the
installation and one of the critical modules didnt compile so
mailscanner didnt install.

I did a bit of searching and found that CPAN doesnt get installed by
default and thought I would install that and update and then try again.
However the RPM wont install :-

Is this due to mailscanner installing some modules?
How can I fix this?
