inconsistent performance

Hello chaps, thanks to all who offered assistance.

I noticed trouble with DNS lookups with spamassassin 3.2.3 as
documented on ttp://wiki.mailscanner.info/doku.php?id=maq:index#optimization_tips
so I upgraded to 3.2.5 which seems to have stopped the lag on the hold
queue.
