CRM114 - _many_ files in reaver_cache?!

I'm wondering - is it normal that there is a massive amount of files in 
the reaver_cache hierarchy? I've been running it for something like half 
a year or so, with 144k documents learned, and a "du" will barely even 
go through that directory tree anymore ...

Can these directories be "cleaned up" a bit, or are the files necessary 
for operation?
