Clamav problem

Hi
I have been running MailScanner Clam and Fprot for some months on a
Centos/BlueQuartz server. The last few days Clam has been hogging 70-80% of
the CPU and I cant find a way to turn it off or uninstall it. I know this
may be a bit 'off list' but can anyone tell me how I can stop it.
