Julian,

Your points are well taken.

I did run spamassassin -D --lint and got no errors.  MailScanner -v output 
appears fine, and only the SAVI module is missing (and I don't need it, 
anyway).  SA DNS lookups appear to be working fine.  And, as I mentioned, our 
mail system, in general, appears to be working just fine, as it always has.  
That notwithstanding, I think I will take this to the SA mailing list.
