I just thought of the upgrade process. It might be a good idea to let
the package send a message to the postmaster of the machine instructing
him/her of the steps to take on the config upgrade.
RPM packages are required not to be interactive during installation. Or
at least that is what I recall as the LSB requirement. But using
/usr/lib/sendmail (required by the LSB) to send a message would still
fall withing the LSB limits and the message could instruct the admin of
pending tasks, things to read, ....
