There's a fair chance you've got hit by the use bytes bug in SA 3.2.0.

Find the Message.pm in the perl path for sa 3.2.0

Just below "use warnings;" add a newline...

use bytes;

this should sort the problem as long as your not using the normalize_charset
functionality in SA. If you are you're stuffed and will have to go back to
3.1.8.
