I'd use CentOS 5 , not 4, if you're planning to use FuzzyOcr.

netpbm is way too old on CentOS /RHEL 4, and you have to mess about with
FuzzyOcr's scansets to get it to work properly.

Yes, I just gave up trying to solve some dependencies with FuzzyOcr on
Centos 4.4 and upgraded to Centos 5.
FuzzyOcr dropped in with (almost)no problems. My head feels much better now
that I stopped banging it...
