/var/log/mail problems

hi all,

i'm using mailscanner+postfix. A few days ago i restarted Mailscanner
through /etc/init.d/Mailscanner. After this, /var/log/mail loging lasts
for 24 hours and after this period a new logging starts with the past logs
being lost.

Do you have any idea why is this happening?
