I suppose you are not using the MailScanner port? If not give it a try.
We provide two scripts (mailscanner and mta) in order to start/stop
MailScanner or the MTA you are using. Not sure if/how postfix works but
please try it out and if necessary provide instructions on how to change
the mta-script.
