Process old Mails

Hi all
I have Mailscanner running on a freebsd 5.3 box. 
This morning I had a lot of mails in the directory /var/spool/mqueue.in
So I moved this directory to a other name, recreatet the Directory and restarted Mailscanner. Now everything is running fine. My question is: how can i start process the old files in the old mqueue.in? I tried to copy just file by file to the new directory. But mailscanner doesent process this mail.
