The only change between 4.58.8 and 4.58.9 seems to be the unconditional 
setting of TMPDIR=/dev/shm in /usr/sbin/check_MailScanner.
I don't think this is the right thing to do. It should be a local 
configuration choice not something that is forced and can only be 
disabled by hacking a script that is overwritten on every update.
Perhaps you could make this a setting in /etc/sysconfig/MailScanner that 
defaults to "on" instead.

Otherwise 4.58.9 seems to be doing fine here on RHEL 2.1.
