Julian,

I commented out the following line in Message.pm to get rid of the ALT text:
$output .= 'Web Bug from ' . $attr->{'src'} if $attr->{'src'};

At least the "Web Bug from" part should have been in languages.conf so 
people could have translated it in their own language.
