Let me add two things. :-)

First of all I just realized that http://www.sng.ecs.soton.ac.uk/mailscanner/files does not contain the files anymore. Just changed that in the ports.

Second: The part that is holding me up most is maintaining the man pages. In a new version I have to locate the new options, see where in MailScanner.config they are (since this is not documented in the changelog), put this in an acceptable format and then patch the port and send the updated manpages to Julian. If the tarball already contained current manpages, the FreeBSD port would only take a few minutes to build...
