What version of  perl are you on?   perl -v

I am on 5.8.8  and have loads of files in  /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE ... including EXTERN.h... but only 1 file in  /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE . [On redhat].

I am running Mandriva 2006.  I ran the mailscanner installation file.  I assumed it would install any missing perl modules?
