'They' is Jan-Peter Koopmann who does participate on this list and  
who's e-mail address is listed in the Makefile of the port. You could  
always e-mail him and either;

1) Volunteer to help him
2) Rant about his inefficiency at not having updated the port yet

Or take the third option

3) Be patient and wait

I'll leave you to decide what is the best course of action ;-)
