Seems there is a problem with the perl installation in Redhat. I needed 
to do this:

export LANG=en_US
perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Mail::SpamAssassin

This worked, so I modified the install.sh to have the export LANG=en_US 
and re-ran just to be sure and it worked. Running now and watching to 
see what happens...
