System load is very high because of MailScanner

Count the processes in state D (non-interruptible wait state). I'm
sure you'll see that it is this that is "artificially pushing the load
upward" (each will add 1 to the load average).

Unless you see large MS batches (in the maillog), your system seems to
be chugging along nicely.
