Version Performance

Yes, I'know, I have read them.                                                  
                                                                                
They are already optimized.

But, my question is about leaving everything as is, and               
only changing MS/SA version. (only a software update)                           
                                                                                
Has anyone noted a performance change?                                          
                                                                                
For better or for worse?
