Duplicate syslog entries

I'm running Debian unstable. Does this apply to Debian as well?

if you are running Solaris, this is an issue with how you have
/etc/syslog.conf configured. Solaris is really screwy about how
it works -- you have to read the manpage for syslog carefully.
