configured but doesn't appear to be working

Let's try this again...

I just decided to implement virus and spam filtering on my Red Hat Enterprise
3.0 system. I had been running Sendmail but switched to postfix and cyrus-imapd.
the spamassassin package had been installed but was never configured to run with
any mail service.

I installed MailScanner and configured it to run with postfix. It is starting
and stopping the daemons. I also configured spamassassin to work with
MailScanner; however I did not add any additional configuration to the master.cf
file of postfix. Should I still do this?

I'm also running clamav and it too is running.

I can't see any difference in any of my mail headers indicating that my system
has checked it? All the daemons are running but nothings happenning? I still get
spam, etc...

Can anyone point me where to start investigating. I believe all of the correct
paths have been set.

Thanks,

james
