bayes.lock and bayes_toks.expire files piling up

I just noticed that I have a TON of the files mentioned above in my
/root/.spamassassin directory.

Is it safe to delete these after a period of time?  I'm thinking something
like this in crontab:

0 2 * * * /usr/bin/find /root/.spamassassin -mtime +7|xargs rm -f >/dev/null
2>&1

Yes?  No?  Maybe?
