custom SA rules and MS?

each of the child processes restarts evrey so often (see setting on 
MailScanner.conf). When it restarts it will pick up the new files.

If you need an immediate pick up of the new/modified rules then you need 
to restart MailScanner.

BTW both MS and SA you have are quite old, and there are issues with MS 
at this version, picking up zip base viruses and a known DOS problem 
with that version of SA.

You might find it worthwhile upgrading both to the lastest stable 
versions (4.32 and 2.64 respectively)
