Gents, I have installed McAfee Linux Shield. It is running fine as far as I can tell. However, your interface looks for /usr/bin/uvscan, which is not the interface of this scanner, here is the link to the product:

Does Mailsacnner support the virus scanner above?

Thanks,

Subject: SuSE with 4.35.9 and MIME::Base64

There seems to be something *really* weird going on with SuSE 9.1 and MailScanner-4.35.9. For some reason installing MIME::Base64 removes perl completely. Fortunately you have to try very very hard to install MIME::Base64 before it goes and actually does it. Running my ./install.sh isn't enough, so you can safely run that.

To get round this problem, you need to manually install the perl-MIME-Base64 code. Don't install it from CPAN as it will get installed in the wrong place.

Do this instead:

cd MailScanner-4.35.9-1
rpm -Uvh perl-MIME-Base64-3.05-2.src.rpm
pushd /usr/src/packages/SPECS
rpmbuild -bp perl-MIME-Base64.spec
cd ../BUILD
cd perl-MIME-Base64-3.05
perl Makefile.PL
make
make test
make install
popd
./install.sh fast
