Problem with PID file

Hello,



I have a problem with the pid file. I get the following error:

/var/spool/MailScanner/incoming/20179/i4UIewc20315.header,

May 30 20:41:03 ns1 MailScanner[20385]: MailScanner E-Mail Virus Scanner
version 4.22-5 starting...

May 30 20:41:03 ns1 MailScanner[20385]: Could not read file
/var/run/MailScanner.pid

May 30 20:41:03 ns1 MailScanner[20385]: Error in line 101, file
"/var/run/MailScanner.pid" for pidfile does not exist (or can not be read)





When I create the file by hand it works for a couple of minutes and starts
scanning mail. After a few minutes the whole thing starts all over again.



Anyone a clue?
