Sorry for being late on this: I run Bynari Insight server.
It's not free, but it does everything Exchange does.
Also, if you want to you can build the server side yourself
using Cyrus IMAP to handle the ACL's & just buy their
"Insight Connector" product (the real meat anyway) that
will allow Outlook to use the Cyrus IMAP store as a
native MAPI store. Otherwise it all comes as a package.
