Automatic attachment compression

Hi folks,

I have some clients that would be interested in automatic attachment compression. The feature should extract the attachment of a mail, compress it (preferrably as ZIP) and replace the original attachment with the compressed one. Benefits: Fewer bytes to transport and to store.

Since MailScanner has to extract all attachments anyways in order to scan them, this could possibly be a new feature for MailScanner as well. Julian: Do you see any chance of implementing this "easily" in MailScanner? If you do not have time for this (which I suspect), where would be the best place to start implementing this?

Regards
