errors when starting MailScanner with postfix

I have presumably missed something in the configuration, because when I
start MailScanner I get:

# service MailScanner start
Starting MailScanner daemons:
         incoming sendmail: sendmail: invalid option -- O
sendmail: fatal: usage: sendmail [options]
                                                                [  OK  ]
         outgoing sendmail: sendmail: invalid option -- O
sendmail: fatal: usage: sendmail [options]
                                                                [  OK  ]
         MailScanner:                                           [  OK  ]

Postfix is working fine, so there is presumably some tailoring required
for MailScanner.  What have I missed?
