does latest mailscanner build run on fedora core 1?

hello,

currently i've got an older version of mailscanner running on a rh8 box.
i've recently been granted permission to use a much better box to run
our spam fileter on and so i thought i'd take the opportunity to use all
the packages if possible.

so i want to upgrade mailscanner, spamassassin, and sendmail. however
i'm having the darnedest time upgrading sendmail. so i'm wondering if i
can install fedora core 1 and then install the latest mailscanner build
and have things work like normal?
