No, that isn't correct. The above command will create a hash file called
accessdb.db. I need a file called access.db which is produced by

makemap hash access < access

I'm certain that there is nothing wrong with my access.db file. Perhaps
I'm putting the wrong address in it but generating it isn't the problem.

What I want to do is quietly discard specific email messages sent to me
without causing a load on my system. I thought I could use sendmail's
access database to accomplish this but it isn't working. My access.db
file working for other entries.

The messages in question are being discarded but sendmail is still writing
the error to my syslog. The error in the syslog is

Mar 27 12:15:05 tiger sendmail[24994]: i2RHF53U024994: Syntax error in mailbox
address "dayzersagency?@spinfinder.com" (non-printable character)
