hehe yeah - the server is so cheap, it wasnt worth getting anything less
- currently we use P200 NEC servers - these handle the load fine! but if
we got any form of heavy use from somethihng like mydoom, they would
soon be crippled - our company is not travelling all that great (we aint
got heaps of cash) so we buy second hand (this one is brand new, run out
model) servers, they come with 3 years on site parts and labour warranty
etc. I got p4 2.8/1.5gb/36gb scsi for $2200AUD/$1600USD... So its not
really overkill, it would cost almost that much for a half decent PC...
Now i have all the grunt and hardly any load i wil turn on EVERYTHING!
keep fat sql DBs and months of quarantine etc :)

I install the base install only and update the ports i want - i have it
installed now with 5.2.1, 5.0 wouldnt install at all, so will just go
with this and worry about the release when a new stable is released?
I was just going to go with Red Hat 9 - but its not supported and i had
loads of issues getting it to even launch the setup, and when i did get
through the install, it couldnt boot, same with RH8, which is getting
too old i think, so i installed FreeBSD without issue, almost.
