Slow Delivery

There has been a dramatic increase in viruses the last 24 hours. On my
system it has gone from about 400 found per day to 1300 so far today. When
I got up this morning there were almost 3000 queued messages.

I increased "Max Children = 5" to 10 until mail caught up. This took about
10 minutes and then dropped the setting down to 7.

The only thing I can think of is on my system the virus laden mail was
coming in faster than 5 processes could handle it. With 10 running I only
had about 20MB out of 1GB of ram so dropped it back down to 7 and it seems
to be keeping up with no problem now.. System loads were not a problem
before or after the changes.

With just 5 processes running it was getting farther and farther behind
with each scan run.

MS, ClamAV, SA on FreeBSD
