Most Outlook (Express) users are not aware that they're sending HTML,
since it is the default.
Perhaps we should say 'please use plain text (format, plain text)'
instead of 'please avoid html'.
I know that there is a diverse set of mail clients and levels of
expertise on this list, but I would bet that most of the HTML posts are
from Microsoft mail clients.
Just a thought.

I often use pine. All I need is an ssh client and I have access from
anywhere (my company doesn't offer webmail). If you think html is bad,
you should see what happens when people write their email in MS_Word and
then paste into a mail client - totally unreadable.
