Mailscanner and Vexira?

Kristine,
I'm using MailScanner with SpamAssassin, Vexira and ClamAV.
I have a PIII 900 with 512Mb of RAM and a 18Gb HD, but my server is a relay-only server.

I have about 20.000 msgs/day and no problem with this hardware configuration.

I'm quite sure you shouldn't have any problem with your actual configuration too: my CPU load is almost always under 10%, and with 5 mailscanners children (that is 'Max Children=4') I'm using about 130Mb of RAM, so my server is a lot oversized for the job!

Bye,
Gabriele

I'd second that but add:

Set up the clamav user as described in the documentation at

  http://www.clamav.net/doc/0.67/clamdoc.pdf

Get the latest version from clamav cvs, or here:

  http://www.clamav.net/snapshot/clamav-devel-latest.tar.gz

Unpack it, change to the appropriate directory, and type away...

  aclocal
  ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc
  make
  make install

Then add the appropriate bit in MailScanner.conf (see the MailScanner FAQ if
you're not sure
http://www.sng.ecs.soton.ac.uk/mailscanner/serve/cache/29.html) and restart
MailScanner.

I needed to do the aclocal bit before running ./configure, you might not
need to.

Cheers,

Phil
