I'd second that but add:
Set up the clamav user as described in the documentation at
http://www.clamav.net/doc/0.67/clamdoc.pdf
Get the latest version from clamav cvs, or here:
http://www.clamav.net/snapshot/clamav-devel-latest.tar.gz
Unpack it, change to the appropriate directory, and type away...
aclocal
./configure --sysconfdir=/etc
make
make install
Then add the appropriate bit in MailScanner.conf (see the MailScanner FAQ if
you're not sure
http://www.sng.ecs.soton.ac.uk/mailscanner/serve/cache/29.html) and restart
MailScanner.
I needed to do the aclocal bit before running ./configure, you might not
need to.
