SpamAssassin is not included with MailScanner. It must be installed separately.
Therefore, either you did install it from rpm (rpm -qa | spamassassin to know) or you simply didn't install it at all.
If you just didn't install it, install it from source or cpan.
If you installed it with rpm, yes you must rpm -e it and then install it.
Please take the time to look at the MAQ page... it is worth it. What you are asking here is explained in it.
