"Header" lines containing nothing but tab characters

I've had occasional cases lately where the headers added by MailScanner
are separated from the other headers by apparently blank lines, which on
closer investigation contain one or two tab characters. This is then
confusing a downline server here, which seems to think that the headers
end before these non-RFC-conformant lines - as a result scripts on that
server don't see and don't act on the MailScanner headers.
I assume (though can't easily prove) that these tabs were already there
in the original mail. In any case, would it be possible for MailScanner
to do a quick sanity check on the headers to ensure that they meet the
RFC 2822 spec :
| 2.2. Header Fields
|
| Header fields are lines composed of a field name, followed by a colon
| (":"), followed by a field body, and terminated by CRLF. A field
| name MUST be composed of printable US-ASCII characters (i.e.,
| characters that have values between 33 and 126, inclusive), except
| colon.
If this could be done easily I'd much appreciate it, Julian, or
alternatively if you or anyone have other suggestions as to how to get
rid of these lines (a custom function? a postfix option?)
John.
