Whic Version should i run?

I am in the process of upgrading to latest stable release, but reading
the list i am now not sure if i should be running the latest beta to
protect against these latest password protected zip viruses?

I dont really care about content scanning them, just if its a virus then
trap the message, will latest stable and clamav stop these for me? I
dont really want to run beta if i can avoid it.
