The trick is to block them "for a while" (you define what "for a while" is).

Debian for our Gateway. So if some kind soul has done a Debian box with
Sendmail and IPTables, please hit me off-list.
Other then that, it looks very doable, though I worry about having our
firewall loaded with 13K in blocked IP's eventually it's going to start
bogging.
