Thanks everybody, finally got it working! :)

The second exim4 daemon only runs the outgoing queue every 30 minutes at the
moment but I think I know how to change it.

Thanks again

Alex

Your autogenerated config does not appear to have the code for the two
exim directorys. Did you copy the snippet to /etc/exim4/conf.d/main/ ?

Are you using split config or a single file? Check in
/etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf

dc_use_split_config='true' (or false)

If it is set to true then you need to run update-exim4.conf

If it is set to false then you need to manually copy the contents of the
01_mailscanner-config snippet into your /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.template.

I put it right after the DCconfig_DEBCONFconfigtypeDEBCONF line, and
right before the main/02_exim4-config options starts.

Then run update-exim4.conf again

guru, so if somebody could spell out this last step to me I would be very
grateful. The information in the package up to this point has been first
rate, but unless i'm missing something (very probable), I can't get the
second daemonto deleiver the mail.
