The first thing is to understand that MailScanner doesn't listen on any
ports.. When using MailScanner you still need sendmail... in fact, you need
TWO sendmails.

The normal flow for a MailScanner system is to have two MTAs running. One
listening on port 25 and queueing files to the inbound queue, the other
reading from the outbound queue and delivering them. MailScanner picks
email up from the inbound queue, scans it, and places it in the outbound
queue.. The two MTAs take care of the rest.

My first question would be how are you starting MailScanner? How did you
install it?

You should use the standard rc.sysinit script for MailScanner.. this should
start both sendmails and your mailscanner.
