zombie processes

I tried some debugging but couldn't find the real reason yet. I assume
that one of the "Max Children" children freshly created after
having started the daemon lacks a waitpid or something like that. I
couldn't state where the fork is done but it's clearly to bee seen that
the children create a new child on invoking a message scan. This child
exits but the parent process doesn't wait for it to do so.
I would appriciate it much if one of the developers could check this
issue. I'll serve further information if necessary.
