MTA + AV: opinions?

I have a similar setup at a client's server, with 4k msgs/day, (around
180Mb), load average hovers around 0.2; the only exception being at about
4am during most of the log rotation cron jobs, where it may jump a bit, but
never quite touches 1.

Nor have I, yet...

We're processing 10,000 messages daily (around 600MB) on a Dell 2650 single
processor P4 Xeon 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM, hardware mirrored SCSI disks, running
Fedora Core 1, with Bitdefender, ClamAV, McAfee uvscan, MailScanner with
loads of RBLs at the spamassassin level, and running squid for 1001-odd
users with a load average hovering around 1 most of the time.

Cheers,

Phil
