In Oxford there are two streets (well Ok there more than two but you get
my drift :-) one called North Parade and one called South Parade.

North Parade is about 3/4 of a mile *south* of South Parade.


As to USA geography, I think the issue it that the place is so huge they
can't cope with anything outside their borders. Hence the reason to have
a war every so often, invade the country in question and teach world
geography to their citizens :-)
