postfix/mailscanner: mail backs up in outoging

drew, i appreciate your time for helping me investigate this.

running postfix-2.1.0-1 and MailScanner-4.31.6-1

qshape.pl does not appear to be installed on this system... one of the
effects of this problem however it is takes forever to look at any of the
queue dirs in ./incoming due to the sheer volume of files.

tracking an example "hung" msg:

it appears that once mailscanner reques and renumbers the messages, it
simply reamins in the /incoming dir with no further processing.. even with
the 4 day limit, i have tons of these that are several weeks old...

not sure what the "hold: header received from" indicates... ?
