        Sorry, i should have said 'My preferred fix ...'.
        The sendmail people raise a question about Flock in Linux, but it appears
from my reading, that the problem is with flocks and NFS,   - so if you are
using nfs for any part of your mail service that sendmail interacts with, I
would advise caution. I don't use NFS, hence the preferred method for me is
re-compilation.
