Check that you have execute permission on the following file and then try
Julian's command again:

> /usr/lib/MailScanner/antivir-wrapper

Reminder, Julian's command was:

/usr/lib/MailScanner/antivir-wrapper /usr/lib/AntiVir -allfiles -s -noboot -rs
-z .

(All on one line, complete with the . at the end, run from a directory with
the Eicar test virus in it)

Never write it in Perl if you can do it in Awk.
Never do it in Awk if sed can handle it.
Never use sed when tr can do the job.
Never invoke tr when cat is sufficient.
Avoid using cat whenever possible.
