Perl version

Can anyone advise me on this?

The customers machine has two instances of Perl, one
"real" one (for system purposes) and an updated
version (5.8) in /home/spam-filter - along with SA.

perl -e 'print @INC;'  shows the following output:

/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i386-linux/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005.

Yet, MailScanner is using the SA and Perl in
/home/spam-filter. How is this done and how can be
sure not to break it when upgrading SA?
