There's a start/stop/restart/etc MailScanner script I modified for use
on Debian at one of my websites (I've really got to get back to updating
it...):

Scroll down to the bottom and download it, modify it as required
(heavily commented) and add a symlink to the relevant rc.[1-6] directories.
